Docklyne is a boat rental platform with the largest network of professional boat rentals. It connects renters with licensed boat rental operators and offers enough tools to manage reservations, pricing, and fleet operations via a single platform.
The system allows renters to search and book boats across the US. On the other side, operators can seamlessly manage schedules, communicate with renters, and track bookings, all from one dashboard.
The platform also includes features such as GPS fleet racking, multi-calender to run operations, messaging system, and other reporting tools that enable effortless daily rental operations.
Docklyne aims to simplify and organize how boat rental companies operate while making it easy for renters to find boats through a modern, user-friendly digital platform.

Project Overview
cmsMinds worked with Docklyne to design the user experience and user interface for its boat rental SaaS platform across mobile and desktop applications. Our objective was to build a modern and intuitive platform that easily connects boat renters and rental operators. At the same time, we made sure the platform’s overall booking and management process is simple to use.
The design work primarily focused on simplifying essential workflows within the platform. Important actions such as searching for boats for any location, managing listings, and handling check-in, check-out, and payment processes are meticulously structured to make the entire user experience seamless.
We introduced several UX features to enhance usability and consistency. For instance, standardized photo angles were designed for boat listings so that renters can view boats in a consistent way.
The Challenge
We needed time to understand how the traditional boat rental business operates in the first place. And then, how those processes could be effectively translated into a digital product.
So we took each and every step after careful consideration and a clear understanding of both renter and operator needs.

The Solution
cmsMinds designed a user-centric interface that simplifies how renters search for boats and how operators manage their rental operations. The whole platform experience was carefully put together to guide users through each step, from browsing listings to completing bookings and managing rentals.
Designed a complete UI and IX system for Docklyne’s SaaS platform across mobile and desktop applications.
Introduced standardized photo angle guidelines for boat listings to improve visual consistency across the platform.
Developed interactive wireframes and prototypes using Adobe XD to test and refine the user experience before implementation.
Designed scalable interface elements, icons, and visual components using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator to ensure a clean and consistent design system.
The Result
The new platform design gave Docklyne a modern and consistent user experience across both mobile and desktop applications. By simplifying key workflows and introducing clear design standards, the platform made it easier for renters to discover boats and for operators to manage their rental activities.

- Over 4,500 professional boat rental operators across the country are part of the ecosystem.
- Renters can browse boats across 950+ waterbodies, expanding rental opportunities in multiple locations.
